THEATRE COURSE DESCRIPTIONS
Instructor approval is required for all levels of 2 and above
Theatre Arts 1- An over view of basic theatre arts, basic acting techniques, and introduction to stagecraft
Theatre Tech 1- This course includes an overview of technical theater and the beginning study of construction and operation of scenery
Theatre Production 1-This course is designed to meet outside school for a minimum of 80 hours for each unit of credit, it provides a practical and hands on experience in acting and stagecraft
Theatre Production 2- Prerequisite include Theatre Production 1
Theatre Tech 2- Prerequisite Theater tech 1 and approval of instructor, this course includes more exploration of Technical Theatre
Theatre Art 2- Theater Arts 1 and approval of instructor, this course emphasizes expressive use of the voice and body
Theatre Production 3- Prerequisites include theater production 2
Theatre Tech 3- Prerequisites include Theatre Tech 2 students have an opportunity to select and specialize one of the following areas, scenery, properties, lighting, sound, makeup, and public relations
Theatre Arts 3- Prerequisites include Theater Arts 2 this course includes further acting concepts and skills through advanced characterization, production style, and career education
Theatre Production 4-This course is designed to meet outside school for a minimum of 80 hours for each unit of credit, it provides a practical and hands on experience in acting and stagecraft
Theatre Tech 4-Prerequisites include Technical Theatre 3 this course contains an over view of technical theater and the beginning of construction and operation of scenery
Theatre Arts 4- This course includes instruction in acting techniques, stagecraft, use of body and voice
Musical Theatre 1,2,3,4- Acting, singing and dance instruction taught in these classes on projects that incorporate elements of all three disciplines, students progress from basic to advanced levels in Musical Theatre Arts
